This video tutorial shows you how to logon to a server using Dreamweaver CS3. It was created to help support my website class where students set up website portfolios, many of them have little or no web experience. Since many of them are new to HTML and the web, it was important to make this tutorial so that they can update and upload files to their websites on their own.
NOTE: Sometimes, this doesn’t work…I know it sucks, but sometimes this simply doesn’t work, and I’ve tried everything. Here’s what I know for sure that works. If you have the correct login and password info, and you use this technique, for some reason, it does not work, but if you use another FTP program, it works fine. If this doesn’t work, be sure to use FETCH (MAC), Classic FTP (MAC), Filezilla (PC), or simply use GoDaddy’s web based File Manager on their website (which worked every time).
