Week 5 - Halfway through - MIDTERM GRADES POSTED

We are halfway through the quarter congratulations on making it this far. Your midterm grades are posted and are available for viewing. Click the Ai link above to check your grades. Remember that the midterm grade is a checkpoint for your performance in class currently. It does not stay on your record, however it is possible to change this grade by improving attendance and submitting work on time.



Week 4 - No School This Friday - Midterm Week

No school for those attending class this Friday. This week is also midterms week. The school is open until 1 am. The school will be closing normal hours during week 5.




Week 3 - Awards and No School Reminder

Congrats to all of you who received an Honors Award this week during the presentation. If you were not able to receive your award, check in with Academic Affairs department.

NO SCHOOL: For those of you attending Friday classes, there will be no school next week (Week 4).



Week 2 - The Work of Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor ::

This week, the visual effects artist Richard Taylor came to AiLV. His resume is stunning and has been the creative director Tron (1982), the first movie to introduce people to computer animation. He has designed the space ships for Star Trek the Motion Picture and is currently the cinematic director for EA in LA.

During his lecture, he displayed a showcase of his commercial work but also addressed questions pertaining to getting work in our disciplines.

He gave us many pieces of advice but the one that sticks out above all is to "Always be positive". Rejection is part of the business and being positive will always get you through.

Thanks Richard for the visiting us and for the the inspiring talk.

The works you see to the left are his personal pieces, pieces that he creates for his own fulfillment. They will be on display at the school until the end of November.

Welcome and congratulations on making it to another quarter. It is a great pleasure to act as your guide for the next 10 weeks. Remember to do your best, have fun and be fierce when it comes to creating the best work you possibly can make. Keep your eyes on the prize and be persistent, for it is your greatest power. If you need help, let me, any of the staff or your Academic Directors know.

To encourage you, refer to this site for what was covered in your class and to see what was assigned for homework. Use this site to help you stay on top of things during the quarter. You can also access the Ai email login screen at the top of the page. If there is any way I can improve this site to better help you, please let me know.
